There are many government agencies (such as CBP, TSA, FDA, and FCC) that you must comply with when you intend to import into the United States, and it can be difficult to keep up with the rapidly changing regulations of these different agencies. Misrepresentation or missing an import document can be very costly as it may delay your shipments and/or incur heavy fines. For example, Importer Security Filing (ISF, also known as 10+2) became effective on January 26, 2010, and its fines may go up to $5,000 for each non-compliance violation.
